1. Who We Are
Resavi Inc. is a company incorporated in Kenya (Registration No. CPR/2020/123456), with its registered office at 5th Floor, The Prism Building, Upper Hill, Nairobi. We are the data controller for information collected through resavi.co.ke and the Resavi mobile app.
2. Data We Collect
We collect: (a) information you provide — name, email, phone number (including Safaricom/Airtel number), profile photo, and reviews you write; (b) automatically collected data — IP address, device type, operating system, and browsing behaviour; (c) location data — with your explicit consent, we collect GPS data to show nearby businesses.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide and improve the Platform, personalise your experience, send you relevant notifications via SMS (including M-Pesa OTPs), respond to support requests, and comply with Kenyan legal obligations including the Data Protection Act 2019.
4. M-Pesa & Payment Data
When you pay via M-Pesa, the transaction is handled directly by Safaricom. Resavi receives a transaction confirmation reference only. We never see or store your M-Pesa PIN.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: trusted service providers (hosting, analytics, SMS delivery); business owners when you book or order through their listing; and law enforcement when required by Kenyan law.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active and for up to 5 years after closure, as required by the Tax Procedures Act (Kenya). Reviews are retained indefinitely unless removed under our Content Guidelines.
7. Your Rights (ODPC)
Under Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, or port your personal data. To exercise these rights, email info@resavi.com or write to our Data Protection Officer at our registered address.
8. Cookies
Resavi uses essential cookies for authentication and security, analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand usage patterns, and preference cookies to remember your location and language settings. You may manage cookie preferences at any time in your account settings.
9. Children's Privacy
Resavi is not directed at children under 16. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided personal data, we will delete it promptly.
